Gordon Large earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education/Trombone from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, in May of 1979. While there he took a piano tuning class under Edward Swenson, RPT. Little did he know that this elective would become his career and he would create a business where he has no employees, and you--the customers--are his boss.

Gordon has been tuning, repairing and moving pianos for over 25 years. He became a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild in October of 1982. He worked in Montana and New York before moving his business to Mount Vernon, Maine, in the winter of 1989. In October of 2004, Gordon's Piano Tuning & Repair moved to a brand new shop in Hallowell. Gordon regularly attends regional and national seminars and conventions so that he can continue to offer his clients the latest in piano service. Gordon has been the president of the Maine Chapter of the Piano Technician's Guild since 1997, has served as both Secretary and President of the New England/Eastern Canada Seminar Organization (NEECSO). He has published the monthly newsletters, is responsible for organizing chapter meetings and is the liaison between Maine and the head office in Kansas City, Missouri.
